Carmela is from the community of Washintsa in Ecuador. She walked for a full day to attend the Safe Birth and Family Health workshop in Kurinua. In Washintsa, she works as a teacher in an elementary school. She is a single mother with one daughter and has a profound interest in health, specifically women’s health. One of Carmela’s goals is to become a skilled birth attendant in her community, so she hopes have the opportunity to attend more workshops in the future. Thanks to your commitment and contribution, Carmela can provide birth kits to two pregnant women in Washintsa!
