Janeth brings birthing kit back to her community

Janeth is a 17 year old woman who attended the Safe Birth and Family Health workshop in Tsunkintsa, a village in the jungles of Ecuador. The president of her community selected her as a delegate to attend this workshop, which is hosted by Jungle Mamas, with her mother. She was excited to learn about women’s health and the importance of safe birth practices.

By attending the workshop, Janeth was able to learn more about Western medicines and practices. She also received a safe birthing kit, ­- she can now use her own traditional plants and medicines in combination with the western traditions she learned from the workshop!
